Rublev Colours Pigment Realgar - 10 g

Realgar gets its name from the Arabic words for "powder of the mine" (rahj al ghar). We obtain realgar from deposits in Hunan Province, China, which is orange and has a scintillating quality in the coarse-ground pigment.

The toxicity of arsenic sulfide pigments has been known for years. Extreme caution must be used when handling the dry pigment to avoid exposure to skin, ingestion, or inhalation of the dust. Care must also be exercised while painting with it in any medium.

WARNING: Exercise care when using dry pigments. Do not eat, drink or smoke. Avoid breathing dust. Use a NIOSH-certified dust respirator. Wash hands immediately after use. If the creation of dust is likely, wear protective clothing.
