Are you a kid in a candy store when you walk into an art supply shop? Do you find yourself inspired by the materials but unsure where to start? Do you want to learn more about what makes some materials stand out and how you can get the most out of them?

Originally founded as the Washi Drawing Club by The Japanese Paper Place, ARTiculations is continuing the legacy of creativity and exploration, but with a new twist! The Paper & Marks Drawing Club is our new quarterly subscription designed with the secret sauce of the original club, including playful exploration, guided prompts, and a supportive community, and expanded to include all kinds of papers, drawing tools, and mark-making possibilities.

Once a month, we meet online on Zoom (last Monday of the month, 7:00–8:30 PM ET) for an immersive session. It begins with a short introduction to the paper and tools included in your materials kit and some fun prompts. Then, we take time to independently explore the materials in the comfort of your own space; whether that’s your studio, kitchen table, or wherever you create. Join live or watch the replay anytime.

Your curated materials kit is mailed in advance so you’re ready to dive in at the start of the season. While the kit is selected to spark exploration and experimentation, the true value of the subscription lies in the guided sessions, prompts, and community, which give you the support and structure to experiment and push a little deeper. Using the same materials across three months allows you to see how they (and you) evolve and respond in different ways!
