Rublev Colours Pigment Carbon Black - 4 oz

It is one of the most important black pigments used in artists’ colorus, printing inks, coatings, plastics, rubber, and specialty industrial applications. In artists’ materials, carbon black is valued for its deep masstone, strong tinting strength, fine particle size, and excellent permanence.

Carbon Black is suitable for artists who prepare their own paint in oil, watercolour, egg tempera, casein, encaustic, acrylic dispersion, and other binding media. Because the pigment is extremely fine and has a low bulk density, it requires careful wetting and gradual incorporation into the binder to avoid dusting and agglomeration.

Warning: Carbon Black is not acutely toxic in ordinary artist use, but it is a very fine powder and should not be inhaled. Avoid creating dust. Use local exhaust, wear a properly fitted particulate respirator when handling dry powder, and clean spills with a HEPA-filtered vacuum or wet method. Do not use compressed air to clean carbon black dust.
