Exploring Horizons: Canadian Landscape Exhibition

This group exhibition invites artists to reflect on the vast and varied terrain of the Canadian landscape. We’re looking for works that interpret land, place, and horizon - real or imagined - through drawing and painting. From traditional vistas to contemporary abstractions, this exhibition embraces a wide lens of what Canadian landscape can be today. 

Submission Details:

• Entry Fee: $35 for one piece; $10 for one additional piece (maximum 2 submissions per artist)
  
  
• Mediums: Drawing and painting-based works including acrylic, oil, encaustic, watercolour, gouache, graphite, coloured pencil, charcoal, ink, pastel, and mixed media. Mixed media works are welcome as long as drawing and/or painting remain the primary element.
  
  
• Subject Matter: While we welcome a wide range of stylistic approaches from realism to abstraction, submitted work must engage with landscape as its primary subject. This can include natural or constructed environments, imagined places, or interpretations of land and horizon. Works where animals or people appear are acceptable, but the landscape itself should remain central to the composition. Portrait-focused or figure-dominant works will not be accepted. Artwork generated wholly or in part using artificial intelligence (AI), including AI-generated imagery or AI-assisted image generation, will not be accepted.

• Presentation: All pieces must arrive ready to hang on stretched canvas, wood cradled panel, or framed with appropriate picture wire installed (no sawtooth hangers or easel backs). We prefer gallery mount stretched canvas but will accept standard canvas or framed work as long as it isn’t warped, hangs flat to the wall, and includes picture wire to the specifications listed above.
  - Works on paper must be framed or mounted to wood cradled panels to be accepted.
  - No wet or curing paintings will be accepted.

• Size Limit: Maximum dimensions 16" x 20" *including frame if submitting a framed artwork
  
  
• Commission: ARTiculations will retain a 10% commission on any work sold.
  
  
• Format: This is an open call exhibition. All entries that meet the submission criteria and presentation requirements will be included.
  
  
• Installation Style: Work will be displayed salon-style in our gallery.
