Hand Drawn & Painted Patterns with Megan Bray

Design and draw simple patterns and infuse them with your favourite colours using gouache! 

In a time where we often hand this type of design over to computers and paint bucket fills, it feels extra special to slow down and create intricate things by hand, letting the little imperfections live as a sign a human was here.

Explore motifs, find colour combinations that speak to you, and practice brushwork with precision and control, honing your painting skills and getting a better feel for colour mixing / gouache without the pressure of matching a reference.  

Participants will leave with multiple handmade unique designs and the confidence to continue with this meditative approach and gouache painting outside of class.  Beginners welcome!

About your Instructor:

Megan Bray is a Toronto-based visual artist who works primarily in gouache and coloured pencil with a versatile, expressive style and deep knowledge of materials. With over a decade of experience teaching art, she is known for her vibrant pet portraits, custom gouache home portraits, and her dedication to sketchbook practice.
