In this workshop we will cover some of the techniques for developing a large (15 X 22”) watercolour. We’ll work through a series of exercises designed to increase your mastery of the medium: wet on dry; wet into wet; optical and palette mixing; saturation vs tinting; gouache or body colour; dry brush; Bokeh; flat and graded washes; textural techniques; (salt, saran wrap, scoring, feathering, etc) sponge panting; as well as techniques which lend themselves specifically to landscape; still life; portraiture.

You will develop a plan through sketches and studies and create a final frame-worthy work.

This course is for individuals who have some sketching and watercolour experience.

Recommended materials: 
You may bring what you have to the first class and potentially augment with supplies form ARTiculations
