Long Stitch Bookbinding with Recycled Covers with Jennifer Daniels
Sunday, June 8th 10:30am - 3:30pm

Time to dig up all that saved packaging that you couldn't bring yourself to get rid of because it was “so pretty” or a “really nice design” or had a “cool pattern” that you loved and so you put it aside thinking “I’ll use it for something!” but never did.

Bring it along to this workshop where I'll teach you how to use said packaging as a cover for a mixed media sketchbook.  We’ll cut and craft the cover and bind it all together using a long stitch technique.

If you happen to not be a packaging hoarder like me don't worry! You can bring any decorative (or plain) heavy card or paper you like that can accommodate a 4x6 inch book to use as your cover (at least 6x12 inches) Or, if you have nothing we can provide options for you to use.

No previous bookbinding experience needed but basic measuring and cutting skills are helpful.

Materials that students will bring:

Interesting packaging you like (or heavy card or paper) big enough to make a cover for a 4x6 inch book.
All other materials are provided
