Make your own Watercolour Sketchbook | Saturday February 24 10-1pm

Do you have a journal collection? Do you buy journals only to find the pages are not quite the right size, the right texture, they don’t take the paint the right way?

In this workshop we will learn to make 3 different sketchbooks and learn two different binding techniques, all from 22”x30” sheets of watercolour paper.

We will be making a 31+ page sketchbook-perfect for the Fill'er Up Sketchbook Challenge, and an 8”x10” sketchbook/art journal using pamphlet stitch. We will finish it up with a smaller 6”x5” sketchbook using a glue binding. For this sketchbook you could bring a piece of fabric 10”x20” (approximately) for the cover.

Using the techniques learned in this workshop opens a world of book making possibilities and a freedom to use papers that you love in a whole new way.

Materials that students will bring

• Bulldog clips (ideally 8-10)
  
• A piece of fabric (or try some Japanese Paper!) - optional.
  
• Kitchen knife and a spoon
